Are my kids shoes OK?
This is a subtitle for your new post

In short, there is no ultimate shoe. It really comes down to the shoe being fit for purpose. We often see children wearing these very light weight slip on style shoes all day, every day. We can certainly appreciate the attraction to these shoes, as they are so easy to get on and off and you barely know you are wearing them. If your child has hypermobility and lax ligaments, often the foot functions in an inefficient way, much like a set of tyres on a car that aren’t balanced or at the right pressure. Your child may complain of foot and leg pain and fatigue as a result of this mechanical inefficiency.
These super comfortable light weight slip on shoes unfortunately do not provide enough support and the foot works much harder in this environment. This often explains why your child may complain of pain or leg fatigue with activity-like driving your car with flat tyres!
Our Podiatrists at Junction Foot and Ankle Group can advise you on what features to look out for in footwear to get your child back on track.
