My orthotics won’t fit into my footy boots!
How many times have you heard this phrase often said in frustration, either by your children or in your own head?

As we are at the start of the football season, it’s a good time to get in front of any potential injuries. You may have been advised by your Podiatrist you need to wear orthotics as part of managing a specific foot or lower limb condition. Fitting orthotics in everyday footwear can often be achieved, however fitting them into football boots or lower profile footwear often presents a big challenge.
At Junction Foot and Ankle Group, we use the latest in 3D scanning technology and work closely with the orthotic lab who manufacture our custom orthoses to overcome this problem. Technology, materials and prescription of devices have changed a lot in recent times. Orthotics that once were too hard, too uncomfortable and too difficult to fit in footwear are not as much of an issue now.
We also provide our patients with specific advice on what features they need to look for in football boots and come up with strategies that can get them through the whole season.
